Hundreds of Romanian visitors to the international tourist expo TTR ROMEXPO which lasted from the 13nth to the 16nth of March 2014 paid a visit again this year to the “Mount Athos Area” booth, in order to get informed on the integrated forms, propositions and infrastructures of the destination.
The high interest of the visitors was accompanied by the well founded expectation for an increase of their arrivals, according to the up to now early booking data of the tourist agencies collaborating with the region’s lodging ownerships.
During the expo period the Mount Athos Area Organization, in cooperation with the Romanian G.N.T.O. carried out a presentation of the destination to tour operators and travel Agencies

For many years the Organization’s effort as concerns the Romanian market, focuses on promoting to the market all the destinatiion’s tourist forms as for example pilgrimage tours, gastronomy routes, strolling through
Byzantine monuments and monastic items’ stores, visits to archeological sites etc, so that it will differentiate the type of the incoming tourist product and make a turn from the mass participation to a selective quality with final goal the extension of the tourist period.
