For the second consecutive year, the Mount Athos Area Organization, in cooperation with the Greek-Italian Chamber of Thessaloniki and the Arnea Association of Professionals, will hold a culinary cultural event entitled “Arnea KOUZINA Traditional”, where, in the weekend of 3, 4 & 5 October, twenty (23) exhibitors and local producers/Organization members will present to the public products, flavours, dishes and culinary creations under the “supervision” of the head of the Mount Athos Area KOUZINA, chef Dina Nikolaou.
In parallel, six (6) local social institutions will join forces again, to render the event’s artistic part an ode to local tradition and local cultural roots.
The activity is part of the promo tour of Mount Athos Area KOUZINA 2015 and aims to promote local gastronomy and the products of the “third leg” of Chalkidiki in the Greek market.
Cooking classes, choirs and local dance groups, traditional confectionery courses, presentations and offerings of local products, horse-back rides in the wooded grove, wine tasting, music groups, Greek feasts, competitions and demonstrations of traditional cooking methods…, all in a three-day creativity and communication festival, which from the very first day ensures the participation of all.
The Arnea KOUZINA Traditional is already a reference point and a meeting place for tourism and the local agriculture and is promoted as a model alternative activity, which synthesises and combines tourist attractions, rendering the traditional city of Arnea a popular destination.
In addition, it is further proof of local social cohesion, which was the original objective of the Organization and now creates masterpieces that serve as models for Greek communities.
