4 sea food pastes: from Palermo

May 25 @ 8:00 pm

A traditional Sicilian recipe, pasta alla Norma owes its name to “Norma”, the famous Sicilian melodrama by Vincenzo Bellini. Her godfather is Nino Martoglio.

The legend finds the Sicilian author being excited by the taste of pasta (usually penne) and the eggplant Mediterranean sauce. Then he exclaimed “Norma!”, likening their taste to his favorite opera.

Today the Sicilian guest chef Francesco Piparo presents a Sicilian Norma cooked with local vegetables and flavored with aromatic herbs – collected by Andreas from Aristotelian Mountain!

Do you also want a hint of the sea? Then alternatively ask for the famous Frutti di Mare made by Chrysa and compare it with that of Palermo!
