Tsipouro-Distillery; Of course yes – but the most typical one!
An exceptionally traditional place located in “the green Gomati village”, built among trees and gardens, welcomes every October those who would like to distil the tsipouro but also to celebrate the production, since the distillery is also a place for local traditional events!
What about Yiannis – the owner? He is what we call “joy personified”! Always willing, always smiling, always helpful. He distills tsipouro in the most “athonian” way. Fruits, citrus, onions, spices – all in the right portion are boiled with the grapes, creating a fragrant drink, strong and delicious, all that is needed for the winegrowers.
And then? Directly for drinking: a few meters further down in the excellent entertainment venue, Yiannis and his wife – Maria – serve the “traditional” tsipouro and accompany it with exquisite homemade meze.
