Ammouliani is a small island (only of 4 sq.km), with one village, inhabited by less of 600 residents. The island used to be property of Mount Athos and was used for livestock grazing and olive trees’ cultivation. During the Minor Asia Destruction, at the beginning of 1920, the monks gave the island to the first refugees that arrived from the Minor Asia’s islands Gallime, Pasalimani, and Skoupia. They initially worked on fishery, keeping this profession until nowadays, while they started building step by step their lives and houses from the beginning, on their new island.
Through the pass of time, the island has been discovered by the tourism and most of the tourists visiting Ammouliani are mostly Greeks, coming here to discover the true aroma of Greece.
On the island you will find local medical services, drug store, picturesque tavernas, traditional grill houses, bakeries, mini markets, shops, cafes, bars, and clubs.
Renting motorcycles, bicycles, boats and kayaks, you can explore the island, the beaches and the surroundings, or take the round cruise to Mount Athos, an excursion of lifetime.
