A square.
One of those authentic little village squares, filled with the warmth of everyday life.
A lively square.
With cafés, little shops, children’s laughter, and stories woven through its history.
At its heart stands a traditional taverna beneath a magnificent plane tree. A stone-built courtyard.
Genuine hospitality. George and Nana.
George, born and raised in Stanos, is passionate about showcasing the village’s finest produce: local cheeses, fresh milk, honey, yogurt, handmade pasta, and carefully selected meats. Nana, originally from Georgia, brings exceptional culinary expertise to the kitchen, blending the flavors of Stanos with the traditional cooking techniques of her homeland. The result? A gastronomic marriage full of character—an unforgettable explosion of flavors.
Alongside the delicious grilled meats you’ll enjoy at Flavors Square, we highly recommend starting with Nana’s magical cheese bread. Soft, freshly made dough filled with Stanos goat cheese and fried to golden perfection—best enjoyed with a glass of local tsipouro. Imagine it: in winter, beside the fireplace; in summer, in the stone courtyard beneath the cool shade of the plane tree.
Don’t miss the famous Stanos sausage. It needs no embellishment—its orange and leek filling makes it one of the finest appetizers you’ll taste. Then try the Staniotiki Tigania, glazed with Barakis honey, before saving the best for last: Staniotika Bites, inspired by the Georgian khinkali. Delicate handmade dough filled with seasoned beef and fragrant herbs creates a dish you’ll remember long after your visit. These are the flavors that keep people coming back.
Still hungry?
Enjoy slow-roasted meats from the spit, crisp seasonal salads, and a generous selection of traditional meze.
