The feast of the louvidia and the Croatian Pie

In the stone square full of colorful woven carpets in Neochori, the members of the local Women’s Association welcome guests from Croatia and musicians from Goumenissa, doing the traditional patinada of dancing in the streets of the village, ending at its most central point, in order for the cooking workshop to begin.
Locals and Croatians watch “”how the dry louvidia are cooked in Neochori and the surrounding area with pork””. They learn how to grow them from the local bean growers, they watch how they are collected (in summer) and rolled (threaded), so that they can be dried and preserved throughout the winter. When they are going to be cooked, they are soaked in water, in order to soften, boil easily and create a tasty and very nutritious dish (superfood).
Then the grills light up, the local sausages and the sourdough bread are offered in abundance, the Macedonian tsipouro flows strong and the dances keep on going tirelessly!
Eastern Chalkidiki and Croatia speak the language of pulsating bodies and dance that enlivens the soul, living in a Mediterranean feast, where joy, fun, unity and sympathy abound! Will you really miss it?
