The feast of the Ierissos cuisine

June 7, 2021 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Ierissos sets a table in its port and is waiting for you!
Overlooking the Akantian Gulf, tightly enclosed on the green arms of Mount Aristotle and Mount Athos, the housewives of Ierissos set a large, hospitable and rich table and treat you to what defines the cuisine of Ierissos. The main protagonists are the wild artichokes and the orkyni, which is the gastronomic trademark of Ierissos.
Pies and seafood delicacies steal the show, music from the local community resounds until the historic shipyards, local and Greek dances compose the Mediterranean feast.
It is the Ierissos with its people’s “open heart”, the authentically Greek people, shipwrights, fishermen, merchants, builders and farmers. You will enjoy tsipouro with them, you will definitely try salted orkyni, wild artichokes with village eggs, fried anchovies and sun-dried octopus. You will hear nautical stories and you will be left to the teasing of the older ones. The people of Ierissos will make you feel that you have always been “”from there”” and always “”like them””: the merrymakers, spontaneous people, their good company, their endless celebration and their carefree joy.
