A magical seafood meal, inspired by Asia Minor,
served on a “balcony in the Aegean Sea” at AIORA VILLAS in Ammouliani.
Hostess Jenny, a stately and generous lady, whose hospitality is an element of her DNA (which unfortunately cannot be taught…).
She welcomes us in Alykes Beach, close to the homonymous, white-sand beach with the smell of the Aegean Sea
and prepares lunch, brought as if from the stately courtyards of Ionia,
those that were “sunbathed” by the light of the Aegean Sea in the immaculate flowery gardens with the scents.
“Recipes-heirlooms of an old culinary heritage that are still being cooked,” she says.
“Cooking is a ritual, as it is a taste of memory. Stir-frying, “meloma”, these top Greek techniques such as the great art of “ladera”, the delicately crafted meze, the pilaf, the kapama, the “yachnista”, the dolmades and how many others are an Asia Minor dowry.”
Jenny uses seafood from the port of Ammouliani and local products – from the island and Mount Athos.
The table is attentive to every detail.
Dishes, utensils, tablecloths and towels, olive and mpokamvilia branches, flowers, appetizers, homemade drinks, food, everything smelling of Greece and Greek hospitality (which of course is not bought or staged).
A table for the few and the selected!
Our Basque guests will enjoy it!
